Freeway Shooting Leaves 2 Injured

Sunday morning at 2:30, five adult females got an Uber ride from downtown to one of their homes. As the Uber vehicle was traveling westbound on 394 at Dunwoody Blvd, an unidentified person fired multiple shots at the Uber vehicle. They continued westbound, unaware at that time they were being shot at.

As the vehicle approached Penn Avenue, more shots were fired into the back of the Uber vehicle, striking two of the occupants inside.

One of the passengers was struck in the arm and one was struck in the back. Both injuries are determined to be non-life threatening. Both victims were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance.

The Minneapolis Police, and the Minnesota State Patrol, shut down that section of 394 for a short period of time to locate and gather evidence. Officers from the MPD took statements from other involved and are following up on leads generated by the preliminary investigation.
