3 Injured in Crash Involving Ambulance

Shortly after 8:00 pm, Minneapolis Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Portland Avenue South and 14th Street on a report of a rollover vehicle crash involving an ambulance.

Upon arrival, officers found an three vehicle crash involving an Allina ambulance laying on its side. Preliminary investigation shows that the small black car struck the ambulance which caused it to roll over. The ambulance then struck another vehicle that was parked on the side of the road. That parked vehicle had three people inside that were not injured. The two paramedics and the driver of the black car were transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Additional information is that there is no indication that the ambulance was operating in emergency mode and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash. This crash is under investigation.
