On Thursday evening, February 25th, shortly after 11:00 pm, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s 5th Precinct observed a driver make a traffic violation and then pull into the White Castle. Officers initiated a traffic stop. One of the individuals in the car gave the officer a false name and was removed from the car. A pat search of that individual produced a loaded handgun magazine. A search of the vehicle turned up three loaded handguns. All person in the vehicle are prohibited from possessing guns.
All three parties were booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on Probable Cause Weapons. The male party that lied about his name had a Felony amount of narcotics on him and also had 3 Felony warrants out for his arrest.
Great work by two officers who took the initiative and time to enforce simple traffic laws! This stop netted three illegal guns off the street!
