June 28, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Monday evening at 11:15 pm., officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Penn Avenue North on a 911call requesting assistance for an individual who was reported to have been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female inside a vehicle and provided emergency aid to her. Paramedics arrived and transported her to Hennepin County Medical Center where she died a short time later.
Officers and investigators are on the scene and canvassing the homes and businesses in the area. Other investigators are interviewing people who were in the car with the victim.
The identity, along with the nature and cause of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Tomorrow officers will be in the neighborhood talking to neighbors about this crime. People are strongly encouraged to speak with these officers.
