Monday, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department where among the 1,500 officers who attended the funeral for Sgt. Tony Beminio. Sgt. Beminio, 38, began his law enforcement career in 2001 when he took the oath to protect and serve with the Indianola Police Department. He transferred to the Des Moines Police Department in 2005 and had been with the department for 11 years. He served in the department’s traffic unit, was a school resource officer, and a detective before switching to uniform patrol when he was promoted to sergeant last year. Sgt. Beminio was a devoted husband and wonderful father to his three children.
