The Minneapolis Police Department has arrested an adult male connected to the September 17th fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Stinson Boulevard Northeast and Ridgeway Parkway.
Michael Laurence Campbell, age 21, has been booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on Probable Cause Criminal Vehicular Homicide.
The booking photo of the individual is being held for investigative purposes. No further information is available until the County Attorney makes a charging decision.
Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash
September 17, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the 2nd Precinct responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of Stinson Boulevard Northeast and Ridgeway Parkway at approximately 3:50 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that hit a stop light and an adult female passenger trapped inside the vehicle. Officers were able to free her from the car and provide medical aid until paramedics arrived. The woman was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene.
Officers learned from a witness that the male driver of the car had fled on foot before police could arrive. A search of the area was conducted using K9’s but the male suspect was not located.
The name of the victim, as well as the exact cause of her death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
This fatal crash is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit.
