1 Critically Injured in Crash that Knocked Out Power to Area of North Minneapolis

March 16, 2018 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Friday evening at 9:25 pm. Minneapolis Police and Fire responded to a report of a personal injury car crash at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North.

Officers arrived and provided aid to three individuals who were injured at the scene; one of which that was injured critically. All three was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance.

Preliminary information yields that a passenger car was eastbound Plymouth Avenue and an SUV was southbound on Lyndale Avenue when the vehicles struck in the intersection. The passenger car then went off the roadway and struck a large electrical box disrupting the electrical service to the area. The Minneapolis Police Department’s Traffic Unit arrived on the scene and reconstructed the scene. Speed, failure to yield, and alcohol may have been contributing factors in this crash.

Excel Energy expects to have the power fully restored by morning.
