TedxMinneapolis: Breaking the Cycle of Gun Violence

Sherman Patterson, the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Minneapolis Police Department, is a Bush Fellow and recently had the honor of presenting at TedX Minneapolis. He’s passionate about working with youth in the city to break the cycle of gun violence. Here is his “Ted Talk”, presented to an overflow crowd at the Cowles Center on July 31st. Patterson also founded “Lead By Example,” a mentoring group focused on reducing gun violence. The organization works with young men, helping them become leaders in dismantling a culture of gun violence in their neighborhoods.
