Two Dead After Call of Shots Fired in South Minneapolis

November 22, 2015 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 7:46 pm on Sunday evening, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of an apartment building on the 2200 block of E. Franklin Avenue.  While in route, additional callers stated that someone had been shot.  Officers arrived and found a vehicle with the victims inside parked in a remote corner of a parking lot. Investigators are actively pursuing leads on this case and urge anyone with information to come forward.


Officers, including MPD Somali officers are already in the community following up on leads and speaking to neighbors regarding this event. At this time there is no reason to believe there is any threat to the general public. 


The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victims as well as the nature and cause of death.
