Late in the evening of February 10th, an alert resident heard the sounds of shots fired on the 900 block of Sheridan Avenue North and looked out the window. The resident provided 911 with a vehicle description that was seen speeding away from the scene.
Squads in the area heard the shots and were en route. The officers observed a vehicle matching the description driving quickly from the area. The officers initiated a traffic stop. Officers found a gun on one of the vehicle occupants, and a second gun was found in the vehicle.
In addition, four casings were found outside of the Sheridan address. The guns will be tested using NIBIN to see if it was the gun that fired the shots on Sheridan.
Both guns were found to be stolen. Three persons in the car were booed into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.
