Road Open After Crash Leaves One in Critical Condition

On Saturday, March 26th at 2:45 pm, Minneapolis Police, Fire, and Hennepin County EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries eastbound Excelsior Boulevard east of France Avenue.

Upon arrival, they found that a bicyclist had been hit by a car. The bicyclist had critical injuries and was immediately loaded and rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance. The driver had remained on scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.

Eastbound Excelsior Boulevard was closed for several hours while the Minneapolis Police Department Traffic Unit and the Minnesota State Patrol reconstructed the crash and interviewed witnesses. The road has since re-opened.

The bicyclist was listed in critical condition. No charges have been issued as this remains an active investigation.
