MPD Commemorates National Police Week

May 16, 2016 (Minneapolis) Please join us as we commemorate National Police Week.  This is the time of year that we honor those fallen officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their communities.

Police Week Events:

Monday, May 16, 2nd Precinct, 1911 Central Av NE, Open House, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Tuesday, May 17, 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Av S, Open House, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Tuesday, May 17, 1st Precinct, 19 4th St N, Open House, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday, May 18, 3rd Precinct, 3000 Minnehaha Av S, Open House, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Thursday, May 19, 4th Precinct, 1925 Plymouth Av N, Open House, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

Thursday, May 19, Hennepin County Government Center, 300 6th St S, Skyway Level, a combined Minneapolis Police Department and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Memorial Service, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

At the police precincts there will be tours of our facilities as well as demonstrations from the Bomb Squad, SWAT, Mounted Patrol, K9 units and the Minneapolis Fire Department. Additionally, officers from the Police Activities League (PAL) will be there providing information on various program activities.

Neighbors can meet their patrol officers, precinct command staff members and crime prevention specialists. They can also learn about crime prevention techniques to keep themselves and property safe. There will be fun activities for children and refreshments will be served.
