Alert Resident and Quick Police Response Nets Arrest of Wanted Burglary/Criminal Sexual Conduct Suspect

May 25, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 9:45 am Wednesday morning, a resident observed Jarid Troy Alan Jovanovich in Northeast Minneapolis and contacted 911. This resident remembered seeing Jovanovich on the local news as being a wanted fugitive.

Multiple officers from the Minneapolis Police Department, MTC Police, Minneapolis Park Police, and the University of Minnesota Police Department converged into the area. Jovanovich saw the officers and attempted to flee on foot. After a foot chase, additional officers apprehended Jovanovich under the 3rd Avenue bridge where he was subsequently into custody.

Jovanovich is wanted in questioning for the burglary and criminal sexual conduct against a juvenile in Columbia Heights. Jovanovich is also a wanted fugitive as he has outstanding warrants for a burglary in St. Anthony and another from the Department of Corrections.
