June 17, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 11:15 pm on Thursday evening, Minneapolis Police Officers responded to the 3500 block of Knox Avenue North on a report of the sounds of muffled gunshots. Officers arrived in less than two minutes and were flagged down by a person wanting officers to check on someone inside one of the homes who was believed to be injured.
Officers went into the house and located a deceased adult male who appears to have been shot.
On scene, detectives spoke with people in the area and uniformed officers canvassed the residences. Crime Lab personnel processed the scene and K9 officers looked for additional evidence.
Officers will be conducting focused directed patrol in this area in the coming days. People are strongly encouraged to speak with officers as they spend time in the area with any information to this crime or other community concerns.
