Two Injured After Late Night Shooting

June 26, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers in the area of N 4th Street and 2nd Avenue North heard the sound of gunshots at about 2:45 on Sunday morning. Within minutes, the area was saturated with police officers in squads, on foot, bicycles, and horseback. No victims were located and there was very limited information available when they spoke with people in the area.

A short period of time later, two adult males were dropped off at Hennepin County Medical Center. These two adult males had non-life threatening gunshot wounds that were attributed to the earlier shots fired heard earlier by officers. One of the males had a grazing wound to his head while the other suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
Officers and investigators are interviewing numerous people in the area and persons at the hospital. Officers are also collecting and reviewing numerous sources of surveillance video from the area. These will be used to assist in the case investigation.

The investigation reveals that this incident appears to be between two groups of people who are familiar with each other. This incident is not related to the PRIDE events happening in Minneapolis this weekend.
