Mayor Hodges and Chief Harteau Provide Body Camera Update

Mayor Betsy Hodges and Chief Janeé Harteau provided an update on the Minneapolis Police Department’s Body Camera Program. Media members got the opportunity to talk to subject matter experts and see firsthand how the cameras work.  All First Precinct patrol officers have been issued cameras; Fourth Precinct patrol officers began training with the devices this week and will be equipped by months end.

The full MPD Body Worn Cameras policy is available at section 4-223 of the Minneapolis Police Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
