Early Morning Shooting Leaves One Dead

August 3, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) Around 7:30 this morning, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of gun shots heard on the 2500 block of Logan Avenue North. While in en-route it was updated to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by ambulance.

The victim later died at the hospital. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death.

Homicide investigators have good leads in this case and are interviewing several people at this time.

On scene, investigators spoke with people in the area and uniformed officers canvassed the neighborhood.

Officers from the 4th Precinct will be in the area of the shooting today, and in the coming days, talking with neighbors and gathering information. Community members are strongly encouraged to speak freely with our officers and offer any information about this crime or other community concerns.
