Minneapolis closes several streets near U.S. Bank Stadium for tonight’s soccer match

Aug. 3, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) The City of Minneapolis will close/change streets around U.S. Bank Stadium for tonight’s soccer match between A.C. Milan and Chelsea F.C., which starts at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Beginning at 2 p.m., the City will close:

  • Chicago Avenue, from Fourth Street to Sixth Street.

Beginning at 6 p.m., the City will close the following streets:

  • Fourth Street from Park Avenue to Interstate 35W.
  • Norm McGrew Place from Third Street to Fourth Street.

These street closings are for traffic safety and security needs related to a large stadium event and are similar to ones that will be in place for upcoming Vikings football games. All streets will reopen about one hour after the completion of the match (around 11 p.m.).

In addition to the street closings, Sixth Street from 11th Avenue to Park Avenue will be temporarily reconfigured to allow for two westbound lanes. This will allow people to pick up and drop off on the stadium side of the street.

Please note: Media who want to have live trucks inside the street closure area will need to be in place prior to the closures. All these vehicles will be searched thoroughly.
