Two Injured in Early Morning Shooting Downtown

August 6, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) An off-duty officer heard the sound of gunshots around 3:15am this morning on the 300 block of 1st Avenue North. Other officers from the First Precinct responded to the area within minutes.

When officers arrived in the area, they located two adult males who had gunshot wounds to their legs. Officers provided medical care to the victims until paramedics arrived. The victims were transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance and are currently being treated for their non-life threatening injuries.

Officers are reviewing cameras in the vicinity of the shooting for suspects. The First Precinct officers will be in the area of the shooting in the coming days engaging with the community and speaking with business owners. Community members are strongly encouraged to speak with these officers about this crime or any other concerns they may have.
