Minneapolis man charged with killing neighbor


Hennepin County Attorney Mark Freeman Announces:

A Minneapolis man was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of his neighbor, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Thursday.

Edward Frank Holzinger, 61, is expected to make his first appearance Friday. Prosecutors are asking for $1 million bail.

According to the criminal complaint, Holzinger shot his neighbor, Bruce Wayne Brown, 47, because they had been feuding over a lawn mower. Holzinger shot Brown while standing on his front porch, placed the 9 mm handgun on a chair in his living room and then went outside to wait for police to arrive and arrest him.


August 9, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the 2nd Precinct responded to the 100 block of 15 AV NE, just after 8:30 pm, on a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived they located an adult male, lying on the sidewalk that had been shot. The adult male was pronounced deceased by Hennepin County Paramedics at the scene.

An adult male neighbor, who was known to the victim, has been taken into custody for questioning. At this time police are not looking for any additional suspects in the shooting.

Officers will be talking with people living in the neighborhood in the coming days about the shooting. Our community is strongly encourage to speak with the officers about this shooting or any other concerns they may have.
