Missing 11 year old Located Safe with the Help of the Public and Media


August 13, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) The Minneapolis Police Department is happy to release that the missing 11 year old has been located. The missing child was recognized on TV by a family member, and then located at a different family member’s house. Thank you to all of our Facebook and Twitter followers for the shares and tweets. Our media partners played a huge role in helping locate the missing child, by getting the information out, which brought this to a quick resolution.


August 12, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the 1st Precinct responded to 1401 Portland Av S, regarding a missing child report around 7:44 hrs. tonight.

Officers learned that Ja-Khyia Davis, was last seen around 6:00 pm tonight. Davis is an 11 year old black female, approx. 5’05, and weights approx. 160-170 lbs. Davis has brown eyes, black hair and was last seen wearing a white/ black jacket and black jeans with red around the ankles. Davis is diabetic and has an IV in her arm.

Police believe that Davis could be in the downtown area. The photo attached to this release is the most recent photo that could be obtained by police. Police are in the area of Davis’s last known location attempting to locate her.

If anyone sees Davis they can call 911 or text their tip into 847411 (TIP411).  Enter MPD, a space, and then the information.  These text messages are assigned a tip number and the police department has no way of identifying the source of the information.  All texts are anonymous.  Persons may also call the MPD TIP Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
