One Arrested and Gun Recovered After Four Injured in Downtown Shooting

October 3, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) Around 1:29 a.m. Minneapolis Police Officers aired that shots were being fired in the area of Hennepin Avenue South and 4th Street South.

Officers on foot and on bike immediately located three adult males and one juvenile male, all suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical care to the victims until paramedics arrived. The victims were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) by ambulance. Three of the victims are being treated for non-life threatening wounds. The fourth victim, an adult male, was shot in the chest and is currently in stable condition at HCMC.

A suspect was arrested by officers after a short foot chase. The arrest resulted in officers locating a handgun. At this time investigators do not know if the person arrested is responsible for this shooting or the one that occurred approximately 15 minutes earlier. At this point it is unclear if these two shootings are related. Although the victims are not cooperating with police in either incident, investigators believe that both shootings are gang related.

Officers continue to gather and review camera footage from the area of both shootings.
