Two Injured and Gun Recovered in Downtown Shooting

October 3, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) Around 1:13 a.m. Minneapolis Police Officers heard the sound of gunshots being fired outside of the First Precinct located at 19 4th Street North.

Officers arrived immediately and located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) by ambulance and is being treated for his non-life threatening wounds to his leg and hand. Another adult male victim self-transported to HCMC and is also being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg. Both of the victims are not cooperating with police.

Officers at the scene of the shooting recovered a handgun in a nearby parking lot. Investigators believe the shooting is gang related.

Officers continue to look at footage from cameras in the area to try to determine who else is involved. They will also be canvassing in the area in the coming days talking with business owners.
