Pedestrian Dies after being Struck by a Vehicle

October 19, 2016 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Tuesday, October 18th at approximately 8:43 a.m. officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to a personal injury crash where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, at the intersection of Broadway Avenue West and Sheridan Avenue North.

Officers and paramedics from North Memorial Medical Center (NMMC) arrived at the crash as Minneapolis Fire Department personnel were providing medical aid to the adult female victim.

An ambulance transported the victim to NMMC with significant injuries. She died of her injuries this afternoon. The name of the deceased, as well as the cause and nature of her death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The adult female driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. At this point in the preliminary investigation, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. This crash is being investigated by the Minneapolis Department’s Police Traffic Investigation Unit.
