Recruit Roundup Week 13: Standardized Field Sobriety Testing

The recruit class 2016-03 has completed week 13 of their training. This week the recruits learned about recognizing alcohol and drug impaired drivers. Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) is one of the most critical tools for officers to effectively detect impaired drivers. The recruits got to test out what they learned on volunteers at varying levels of sobriety—and drunkenness. Officers must be well trained in these techniques to get impaired drivers off of the road and keep you and your loved ones safe.
