MPD Responds to Inquires about Swastika Graffiti

On November 21st, officers from the 4th Precinct responded to a call on the 3700 block of Newton Avenue North. The victim informed the officers that a red swastika had been painted on her garage. She also informed officers that the house next to hers, that was vacant, also had a red swastika painted on the garage. Officers photographed the graffiti and wrote a report. The officers also notified their supervisor of the incident due to the bias motivation.

The homeowner quickly removed the graffiti from their garage, and members of the community stepped up to remove the graffiti from the vacant home. Shortly after the incident, the MPD was in contact with Jewish Community Relations Council, due to our longstanding relationship with them. The MPD continues to investigate the incidents.
