Two Injured in Overnight Shooting; Suspect Arrested

March 21, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) An officer from the Fourth Precinct was clearing a fight call at 200 Broadway Avenue West at approximately 1:00 a.m., when he heard the sound of gunshots in the area.

The officer located two adult male victims, just north of Broadway Avenue West on 2nd Street North, who had been shot. Both males had non-life threatening wounds and were provided medical care until paramedics arrived. Both victims were transported to North Memorial Medical Center (NMMC).

As additional officers were arriving at the shooting scene, they located a suspect who ran from them on foot. The suspect was arrested a short distance away, and a handgun was recovered. The 33-year-old male was booked into Hennepin County Jail on Probable Cause Assault 2 and Weapons Charges. MPD has placed a hold on the suspect’s booking photo until the investigation is complete.
