MPD Officers Investigate Car Crash that Leads to Drug Arrest

On March, 24th, 2017, just before 10:00 a.m., officers from the Second Precinct responded to a property damage crash on Broadway Avenue Northeast and Marshall Avenue Northeast.

The driver of one of the cars, a 33-year-old male, was found to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana, as well as prescription medication that was not in the original bottle. Possession of marijuana and possession of prescription medication when it is not in the proper container are violations of Minnesota’s controlled substance laws.

Officers at the scene contacted the Second Precinct Community Response Team (CRT) who continued the investigation by conducting a search warrant at the arrested male’s house. After a complete search of the arrested male’s vehicle and house was completed, the officers and investigators had located more marijuana, LSD, Xanax, marijuana candy, marijuana wax. Investigators also seized $15,700 cash and the vehicle the male was driving in the crash.

The male was booked into the Hennepin County Jail for Probable Cause Felony Narcotics Violations. The booking photo of the arrestee is available by contacting the Hennepin County Jail. Case Number 17-103738.

Great work by the Second Precinct Officers and CRT!
