Two Arrested Following Evening Homicide

May 22, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to a Shotspotter activation in the area of 21st Avenue North and Ilion Avenue North at 7:40 p.m.

When Officers arrived, they were directed to the intersection of Broadway Avenue West and Ilion Avenue North where an adult male had been found shot in a car. Paramedics from North Memorial Medical Center (NMMC) arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

Officers were able to quickly arrest two adult males with the help of several witnesses. The males will be taken to Minneapolis City Hall and then booked into Hennepin County Jail. At this point, Investigators know the shooting is a result of an argument that occurred between the victim and the arrested males. Investigators are not looking for additional suspects related to this homicide.

The name of the victim, as well as the cause and nature of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The homicide scene is being processed by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Crime Lab. Officers from the Fourth Precinct are canvassing the neighborhood tonight looking for additional witnesses and will be back in the area tomorrow answering questions about the homicide.
