Man Dies in Afternoon Shooting

May 30, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to a shooting at 30th Avenue North and Irving Avenue North at approximately 2:30 p.m. today.

When officers arrived, they located a 22-year-old male in a van that had been shot in the head. The victim was transported to North Memorial Health Hospital (NMHH) by paramedics, where he later died.

The name of the deceased, as well as the cause and nature of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers from the Precinct and Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit are canvassing the area and talking with witnesses. We encourage our community to talk with the officers and provide any information you have.
