Man Dies in Early Morning Shooting

June 12, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fifth Precinct responded to a 911 call of a one vehicle car crash at the intersection of 32nd Street West and Blaisdell Avenue South around 1:30 a.m. The 911 caller reported a van had hit both a tree and fire hydrant.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male who was unresponsive in the driver seat of the van. Officers requested paramedics from Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) to respond as they observed the man had been shot. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

Officers learned the van was reported stolen out of Brooklyn Park, MN several days prior.

The name of the deceased, as well as the exact cause and nature of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers from the Fifth Precinct went door to door looking for witnesses to the shooting and will be a back out in the neighborhood tomorrow doing the same.

The death is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit. No arrests have been made. Case number 17-216249.
