Late Night Shooting Leaves One Dead

June 14, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to a 9-1-1 call of a vehicle car crash at the intersection of 26th Avenue North and Knox Avenue North around 10:37 p.m. The 9-1-1 caller reported a vehicle had hit several parked cars before coming to rest in the middle of the street.

When officers arrived, they located a male who was unresponsive in the driver seat of the vehicle. Officers requested paramedics from North Memorial Health Hospital (NMHH) to respond as they observed the man had been shot. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

The name of the deceased, as well as the cause and nature of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The homicide scene was processed by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Crime Lab. Officers from the Precinct and Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit canvassed the neighborhood tonight looking for additional witnesses and will be back in the area tomorrow answering questions about the homicide.

The death is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit. No arrests have been made. Case number 17-219010.
