Early Morning Shootings Leaves Three Injured

July 1, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Around 2:23 a.m. officers from the 5th Precinct responded to the 3100 block of Hennepin Avenue South on a report of a person with a gun. As they were responding to the area, the call was updated to a shooting.

Officers located two adult male victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical care to the victims until paramedics arrived. One male victim had been shot in the foot and armpit, and the other adult male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his leg. The victims were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) by ambulance with non-life threating gunshot wounds.

Approximately five minutes later, officers that were in the area of the shooting, heard gunshots and saw people running. An adult female victim was located at Lagoon Avenue and Humboldt Avenue South suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Officer performed CPR until paramedics arrived and the female victim was transported to HCMC, and is said to be in critical condition.

Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department and the department’s crime lab responded to the scene. At this time it is unknown if the shootings are related. There is no suspect information that can be released at this time.
