Suspect Arrested after Fatal Stabbing

July 2, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to the 1900 block of Newton Avenue North on a report of a stabbing shortly before 12:22 a.m.

When officers arrived at the address, they located an adult male victim with several stab wounds. Officers provided first aid to the victim until paramedics from North Memorial Health Hospital (NMHH) arrived. The victim was pronounced deceased by paramedics.

Officers arrested an adult male at the scene in connection with the stabbing. The arrestee is known to the victim. The arrested man was transported to NMHH to be treated for his non-life threatening injuries. Once the arrested man is released from the hospital he will be transported to City Hall to be interviewed and then booked into the Hennepin County Jail.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Officer will release the name of the deceased, as well as the cause and nature of his death.

There are no other suspects being sought in this homicide. The case remains under investigation by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
