Early Evening Shooting Leaves One Dead

July 28, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to a 9-1-1 call of a shooting on the 1600 block of Plymouth Avenue North around 8:41 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics from Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) along with officers provided medical care to the victim. The victim was transported to HCMC by ambulance where he died from his injuries.

The name of the deceased, as well as the cause and nature of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The homicide scene is being processed by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Crime Lab. Officers from the Precinct and Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit are canvasing the neighborhood tonight looking for additional witnesses and will be back in the area tomorrow answering questions about the homicide.

The death is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit. No arrests have been made. Case number 17-284957.
