One Arrested after Morning Shooting that Injured Two

August 20, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers working in the First Precinct heard the sound of gunshots being fired from a parking lot on the 400 block of Hennepin Avenue South, just before 2:00 a.m.

Officers on bike arrived within seconds of the gunshots being fired and gave chase to a male that was pointed out as being involved in the shooting. The adult male was caught a short distance away and a handgun was recovered.

As more officers arrived at the scene, two victims were located. Both victims, one adult male and one adult female were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) by paramedics with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Travion Jacoa Jones, age 28, who was arrested by officers after the foot chase, was booked at the Hennepin County Jail on Probable Cause 2nd Degree Assault charges related to the shooting.

The shooting is being handled by investigators from the Violent Crimes Investigations Team.
