Investigators Looking for Information Following Morning Homicide

August 29, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) This morning, at 5:48, Fourth Precinct officers responded to an unknown trouble call on the 3500 block of Penn Avenue North. When officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was in a car in a parking lot near the intersection of 36th Avenue North and Penn Avenue North.

The MPD is canvassing the neighborhood. Investigators are asking anyone who may have helpful information in this case to speak with officers or investigators. At this point, it is believed that the suspect and victim were known to each other. There is no one in custody related to this case.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, as well as the exact cause of his death.

The case number is 17-327946.
