Man Dies after Morning Shooting

September 15, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the 3rd Precinct responded to Franklin Avenue East and Chicago Avenue South at approximately 7:15 a.m. after someone called 911 to report a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot. Paramedics transported the man to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) where he was pronounced deceased.

The name of the victim, as well as the exact nature of his death,  will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The homicide is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Lab.

At this point, Investigators believe the victim and suspect are known to each other, and a portion of the shooting was captured on street cameras.

There have been no arrests.
