Man Dies at Hospital after Shooting

September 18, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) On September 16, 2017, Investigators from the MPD’s Homicide Unit were notified that the man who had been injured in a shooting from September 12, 2017, had died at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC).

The name of the deceased, as well as the nature of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

This case remains under investigation with the Homicide Unit. No arrests have been made.


Two Injured in Evening Shooting

September 12, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the 3rd Precinct responded to the 4300 block of 4th Avenue South just after 9:00 p.m. when a 911 caller reported hearing the sound of gunshots being fired in the area. While officers were responding the call, it was updated to a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim who had been shot multiple times. The man was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) and is said to be in critical condition.

A second victim, an adult female, was located several blocks away from the original shooting call. The second victim had a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her arm. She was transported to HCMC by paramedics.

Officers will be canvassing the neighborhood looking for witness and are also looking for a vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived at the scene.

There is no suspect information, and no one has been arrested.
