Two in Custody After One Injured in Robbery Attempt

Shortly after 10:00 pm on Tuesday, April 17th, Officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct responded to a report of a physical altercation and someone yelling that they had been stabbed. The caller provided good information as to suspects involved and a direction of travel.

Officers arrived as one of the suspects was getting off the victim. Officers detained the two persons matching the description of the suspects while other officers were arriving to check on the victim’s condition. The victim clearly had cuts and told officer’s that the suspects had attempted to rob him and subsequently cut him when he would not comply with their orders. After assaulting him, they went through his pockets and took the contents.

Officers interviewed the two suspects separately. One suspect admitted to having a knife on him. When the officer removed the knife from the suspect’s front pocket, he found there to be fresh blood on it. Both suspects became uncooperative with officers.

At the jail. officers collected the outer clothing of the suspects. Blood was found on the clothing of the suspect seen getting off the victim. Both Suspects were jailed for Agg Robbery. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries caused from the incident.
