Minneapolis Police Begin Homicide Investigation After Early Morning Shooting

July 3, 2018 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s First Precinct responded to a report of shots fired on the 1400 block of Washington Avenue South at approximately 12:53 a.m.  While officers were enroute, the call was updated to a shooting.

An adult male victim was transported to Hennepin Healthcare (formerly known as Hennepin County Medical Center) by a private vehicle before officer’s arrival.  This male died at the hospital a short time after arrival.

The identity of the victim, as well as the nature and cause of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. The criminal case number associated with this incident is 18-219730.
