MPD Community Engagement Team partners with Shoes That Fit to help children in need

MPD Community Engagement Team is partnering with Shoes That Fit, 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play and thrive.

The local representative, Janet, will collect the shoes and work with staff at the Minneapolis Public Schools to identify kids in need.

The drop-off site is at the SOC, 4119 Dupont Avenue North. There you’ll see a poster and box in the first floor break room.

The donations accepted are new athletic shoes in a box for kids kindergarten through 8th grade.

Donations are tax-deductible and if you would like to receive a tax receipt please leave the receipt with your name in the shoe box.

Donations will be accepted through the month of February.
