Minneapolis Police Make Arrest in Saturday Night Homicide

May 26, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Police Homicide investigators worked through the night to identify the suspect in the fatal stabbing from Saturday evening, May 25th.

Through numerous interviews and physical evidence, probable cause was developed and Shermeika Nacole Franklin/DOB: 02-18-1980 was placed under arrest and booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on Probable Cause Murder.

Adult Female Dies at Hospital After Stabbing

May 26, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Saturday evening at 9:34 pm, Minneapolis Police Officers responded to a report of a possible stabbing on the 800 block of Hennepin Avenue. Officers arrived and provided aid to the adult female who was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she died shortly after arrival.

The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab arrived and processed the scene, recovering evidence. Investigators canvassed the area and spoke with several people.

The identity of the victim, along with the capture and cause of death will be released by the Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
