June 11, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Tuesday at 4:49 PM Minneapolis police officers responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Central Avenue and NE 14th Ave., Northeast. Information received was that a car had driven into a building.
Officers arrived and located the vehicle with the lone adult male occupant in the driver seat. It appeared that the driver had suffered gunshot wounds. Officers, with the help of bystanders, began emergency first aid which included CPR.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and the victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance. The victim died a short period of time after arriving at the hospital.
Officers canvassed the scene and in the area of 14th Ave., Northeast and Tyler Street they located evidence of a shooting.
The Minneapolis Police Department homicide unit arrived on the scene and initiated an investigation. Officers from the second precinct interviewed a number of people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.
The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab arrived and processed the scene for evidence.
The victim’s identity along with the nature and causes of death will be released by the medical examiners office.
