A Daily Dose of Great Police Work

A Daily Dose of Great Police Work doesn’t always have to mean feats of heroism, rather it can be an instance when they make a positive impact on someone’s life by a compassionate act.

Earlier this week MPD Officers with the help of Metro Transit Officers responded to the Hennepin Ave. bridge in response to a male that was standing on the edge of the bridge. Metro Transit Police and Minneapolis Police Officers spoke with him, along with his probation officer, while MPD Officers put on rescue harnesses. After an hour and 20 minutes, the male agreed to climb back over the railing. He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Thanks to Metro Transit Police, Minneapolis Fire Department and Hennepin County Water Patrol for their assistance.
