Minneapolis Police Begin Homicide Investigation After Late Afternoon Shooting

July 19, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) Just after 5:20pm, Officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Fourth Precinct responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 30th Av. N and Colfax Av. N.  This call was quickly updated to a shooting.  Upon arrival Officers located a male victim and provided first aid until EMS arrived.  The victim was transported via ambulance to North Memoria Medical Center where he later passed away from his injuries.


Responding Officers canvased the area and Homicide Investigators responded to the scene to check for possible witnesses, evidence and surveillance video.  The Crime Lab also responded to process the crime scene for evidence.



The identity of the victim, as well as the nature and cause of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. The criminal case number associated with this incident is 19-212895.
