Minneapolis Police Begin Homicide Investigation After Early Morning Shooting

July 21, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) At approximately 12:25am, Officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Fourth Precinct responded to a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Plymouth Av. N. This call was quickly updated to a shooting.  Upon arrival Officers located an adult male victim and provided first aid until EMS arrived.  The victim was transported via ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died from his injuries.


Responding Officers canvased the area and Homicide Investigators responded to the scene to check for possible witnesses, evidence and surveillance video. The Crime Lab also responded to process the crime scene for evidence.  This is an open and active investigation with no arrests at this time.



The identity of the victim, as well as the nature and cause of his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. The criminal case number associated with this incident is 19-214413.
