Early Morning Confrontation Leaves 1 injured and 1 Deceased

July 27, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Saturday morning at 3:21 am, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of a shooting on the 1000 block of West Lyndale Ave N.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided lifesaving medical aid until relieved by paramedics.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Information received from individuals at the scene is that another individual was shot and someone had driven him to the hospital. A short period of time later, North Memorial Medical Center staff called and reported that an adult male had just arrived suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. It is believed to be related to this incident.

Preliminary investigation yields that a confrontation occurred between two individuals known to each other and it erupted into gunfire.

A homicide investigation has been launched. The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded to process the scene and collect evidence.  Officers also canvassed the area and spoke with several people.
