Minneapolis Police Initiate Homicide Investigation After Late Evening Death

August 13, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 11:50 pm on Monday evening, Minneapolis Police Officers were on routine patrol when they observed an adult male lying on the bike path on the 200 block of West River Parkway. Officers approached the individual and noted his body had suffered trauma.  Officers found the individual was not breathing and had no heartbeat.  Officers called for an immediate response from the Minneapolis Fire Department and paramedics.  Officers then started CPR.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the individual deceased.

Officers and investigators canvassed the surrounding areas and spoke with people who may have heard or seen something.  The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded and processed the scene and collected evidence.

The identity of the victim along with the nature and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
