UPDATE – Saturday Evening Shooting Leaves one in Grave Condition

August 25, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) This morning, the Minneapolis Police Department was notified that the victim of the shooting on the 2000 block of Aldrich on Saturday night has died at the hospital.

The homicide detectives continue to work on this open and active case. No one is in custody at this time.


August 24, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 8:20 pm on Saturday evening an officer was working off duty in the area of the 2000 block of Aldrich Avenue North when the sound of a shot fired was aired. While this officer was enroute to investigate, a call came in to 911 reporting that someone had been shot.

MPD Officers arrived at the location and spoke with people at the scene. Officers were advised that the victim had been transported to North Memorial by a private vehicle.

Officers and investigators canvassed the surrounding area and spoke with individuals who may have information regarding the incident.  The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded and processed the scene and collected evidence.

Preliminary information indicates that an adult male victim, in his 20’s, was shot outside and was transported to the hospital. We have been advised that his injuries are grave.

The identity of the victim along with the nature and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
